Somehow I missed the release of the 2011 teaser for Isenseven’s Kaleidoscope. Created by Alex Schiller, Tom Elliott and Vincent Urban the film features a lot of the usual crew like Alex Tank, Fips Strauss, Fredrik Evensen and Tobi Strauss as well as a bunch of new names. Diaries Downunder have released their fourth episode for their second season. This time they “head up to Temple Basin in the club fields. It’s a must for anyone coming to NZ to ride and one of the more unique experiences around. A 45min hike up to the lodge and you have some of the best terrain in NZ at your fingertips. After a few days riding spring like snow we head back to QT for a park session at Remarkables.” The guys have killed it again – well worth a watch!

I heard back from the guys at Garage Entertainment who are distributing Art Of Flight in Australia with some details on the release. We’re going to have to wait till mid-November for an Australian release on iTunes and the DVD to be in stores. The guys are planning a cinema release from October 10th and after that, we will be able to buy it.

The FIS is great at running ski events but has had a more troubled time running the snowboard events. Stylewars went down while I was away last week and  it’s taken a few days to get everything together but here’s a mega gallery of shots from three days of competition and partying. I know you will all already know but the Jye Kearney won both railmaster and best rider awards netting AU$6,500 and a bunch of prizes. Here’s a clip from the Winter Games halfpipe finals at Cardrona in New Zealand last Sunday. I just chopped together the mens and womens podium runs so you could check out the level of competition – Janne Korpi went way bigger than I remember. Enjoy!

Here’s a better gallery from the Winter Games Halfpipe finals last Sunday… Better than my iPhone shots anyway. Janne Korpi’s winning 93.0 point run included a backside rodeo alley-oop 540 nose grab, back 900 mute grab, frontside 1080 tail, cab 1080 nose finishing with a stalefish. Pretty damn impressive. I’ll have some video from the comp in the next day or so but in the mean time, check the photos above!

The 2011 Winter Games have just finished on a high note with the half pipe finals happening in the 22 foot pipe at Cardrona. Current world number one, Australian Nate Johnstone was favorite going in and had two super impressive runs – I’d say he was getting equal or better amplitude than any of the riders out …

Cardrona hosted the snowboard big air today in pretty amazing conditions. The win was up a little towards the end of the comp but the sun was out and the skies were blue. It was held on a 90 foot (TBC) jump that was in full view of the village giving a large crowd a great view of the action. The day was won by Maxence …
