Dragon had a bit of a party for the launch of the Palm Springs Pool Collection at the Bells comp last weekend. Looks like a good time was had and that a few people would ave struggled with their Easter eggs the next morning. Check the shots from the night above!

Steph Gilmore is the face of a new Nikon campaign for their Coolpix AW100. Its part of some partnership with Surfing Australia – the 16MP camera can record 1080P full HD video and is waterproof, shock proof and cold resistant. No idea what the actual photos quality is like though …

Knack Studios are creating a series of video portraits around surfers. Called ‘One Day Slay’ the first episode features Otis Carey. Well worth a watch!

Some friends of ours were involved in the Strongbow ‘welcome to summer’ event which happened at Bondi last weekend. The guys got surf film maker Jack McCoy down to film a night session with 17 surfers who had their wetties and boards rigged up with neon lights. There was quite a crowd along to check out the happenings and apparently it looked pretty damn amazing when the guys were going at it with the fireworks in the background. The Rip Curl Search event was notable for a few reasons. Kelly Slater won the world title twice, and a 17-year-old Brazilian kid signaled the might be next in line.

He’s done it. The world was waiting, and this morning, in the third round of the Rip Curl Search event, Kelly got through his heat, doing enough to make sure no-one else can catch him this year.

Lifewithoutandy’s held their own Halloween Party at Beach Burrito in Sydney. The guys kicked on to the Piano Room after but from these photos, it looks like it was a pretty epic night. Potentially the sexiest Halloween party ever – all your favorites are there; sexy sailor, sexy Indian, sexy cat, sexy pilot, sexy schoolgirl (hello Google!), sexy white swan, sexy black swan, sexy Elmo… Okay, Elmo wasn’t all that sexy. This cool lil’ clip from English pro surfer Micah Lester caught our eye for a few reasons. First: surfing in the UK must be really, really cold. But secondly: who knew England pumped?

Gold Coast surfboard manufacturer Base (home to Darren Handley’s DHD label as well as Simon Anderson and Nev Hyman, for a time) is closing its doors, costing about 30 jobs, after attempts to save the business failed in the face of multi-million-dollar debt.
