We mentioned the rad new Gatorade commercial featuring Chaz Ortiz back here – a single shot with a few little hits in a school hallway through to a huge 15 stair rail. The commercial is awesome and the guys have released a clip going behind the scenes. They had some serious equipment and put a tonne of effort into making it, it’s a really interesting watch… Check it out over at The Berrics.

DC have opened their epic new 12,000 square foot indoor skate park in Barcelona. Called the DC Embassy, the park has been three years in the making and it will feature weekly videos from both the DC team and others passing through Spain. You can head to the DC Embassy site to catch a video of the park on opening day and head to the facebook page to catch video updates and more from there. We’ve got a few photos from the opening above to check out too!

Nyjah Huston is releasing a part on November 11th for Element. The first of seven teaser clips has dropped this morning and it’s a banger – check it out at the Element mini-site here. I’ll post more as they come out. It’ll be awesome to see Nyjah back up his amazing winning streak at Street League with an awesome video part!

Chaz Ortiz has shot this rad clip in Chicago for Zoo York. He is obviously no longer riding for DC and has been spotted several times sporting Nike SB’s (but also Adidas and a few others) – be interesting to see where he lands. The clip is really well shot and edited, check it out!

The guys at Runamuk Visuals have released this 20 minute skate clip from their trip to Singapore recently. It features Tommy Fynn, Jesse Noonan, Firdaus Rahman, Geng Jakkarin and Cameron Sparkes who spent four days over there as part of Billabong’s City Squared event. Check it out below.

This dropped just after the announcement that eS is finishing up and it is well worth a watch. It’s team rider John Tanner shredding the French capital and is called A Week In Paris. Really well put together, enjoy!

Julius Kellar has been shooting for Pop for a few years now. He does everything from action to product to social photos for us and always does an amazing job. Chaz Ortiz has got a new commercial out with Gatorade. The Berrics posted a clip a few weeks ago hinting that they were working on something and this is it… There’s not a tonne of skating in it, three or four hits, but the overall production is awesome. Here’s hoping they do one with Sean Malto too. Enjoy!

Transworld have released a list of the top 10 skate cities with Melbourne coming in #6.

3rd Chapter held a party in Melbourne for the launch of their winter 2011 range earlier in the year. It looks like it was an absolute banger party – the write up from the guys said, “All in all it was a night to remember or maybe just bits of it.. hahah. We drank the bar the bar dry, we partied like we should, the vibe was was sick and there was a good bunch of crew there to celebrate.” I highly recommend you check out the clip below …

Jerry Hsu is a funny guy. He’s also a professional skater and photographer. Combine those three elements and you get Nazigold – his private photo blog. A chance to see the ‘real America’ through the bloodshot eyes of a man who thinks skate comps need “more weapons.”

Billabong held their first City Squared event in Asia the other day and gave away the largest prize purse the contintent has seen for a skate comp. The day was won by Singapore local Firdaus Rahman who said after the win, “I was so happy the weather turned out awesome today, as yesterday was really hard for everyone … But today it was great vibes, great people, good music and amazing skateboarding!”. Andrew Reynolds came out on top at the Maloof Money Cup in Washington D.C. over the weekend. He battled Ronnie Creager at the end and took home US$160,000 for the win. The comp now moves to South Africa at the end of September… The bigger story here though seems to be just how much head space has been lost by the MMC to Street League. In the early years, these guys were killing it but have been unable to match …

Gravis held a launch party for their summer 2011 range last week… The guys from Lifewithoutandy went along and grabbed some photos from what looked like a super fun evening. If you haven’t checked them out, you can see the Slymz Leather in brown on the wall – they look so, so awesome. All we need now is for them to bring back the rad Mac accessories they used to do – some of the best laptop cases I have ever seen.

Here’s a highlight clip from last weekends Street League Championship in Newark, NJ. As mentioned back here, the day went to Sean Malto who was a late inclusion after Tommy Sandoval had to pull out due to injury. Sean Malto has put a stop to Nyjah Huston’s Street League winning streak over the weekend taking out the 2011 Championship in Newark, NJ. The comp had to shift times to accommodate a little wind and rain being experienced on the east coast at the moment and Malto was a late inclusion into the field after Tommy Sandoval pulled out due to injury. Aussie filmer Michael Pearse has released a 15 minute  video of footage he didn’t want to see go to waste.

Brett Novak has filmed and edited together his latest epic clip with Kilian Martin. I don’t buy into a lot f the “skating is an art” BS that people spout – there’s a lot more jock-ish behavior than I think most people want to admit. But these guys together are amazingly creative. Martin has just been signed to Powell Peralta as well – definitely deserved. Sit back and enjoy the below – you’re going to want to make it full screen.

The Street League Championship is fast coming up and they put out their official release yesterday with the broadcast times on it. They are happening in Newark, NJ on August 28th – the finals start on Monday, 29 August at 7:00AM for us on the east coast of Australia. You can watch it on DC’s  facebook page.

It’s being held at the Frying Pan and they have DJ Bags playing as well as giving partiers an exclusive sneak peak at the 2012 APX goggle – I’ve checked this one out too and it’s amazing. Oakley’s Rebellion Tour hit Mt. Hotham last weekend with Mitch Allan, Ryan Tiene and The Faders along for the ride. It looks like an amazing night with the guys having a shred before the Faders, who played at the Nike Snowboarding launch in Melbourne earlier in the year, hit the stage to entertain the masses in Swindlers for the night. Dave Carnie has written a long piece about Rob Dyrdek and Street League’s direction for Already Been Done. The piece covers Greg Lutzka’s move from SL back to The Dew Tour earlier in the year – referred to by Rob Brink as “the first trade in skateboarding” and then moves through a conversation with Rob Dyrdek about the league as a whole and the direction it is taking skateboarding. Fast Times, 99 Degrees, and Beyond Skate are hosting screenings of last weekend’s Converse Coastal Carnage. It’s happening on Friday August 19th and there will be beer provided. For those that don’t know, the Coastal Carnage is an invitational bowl jam held in Huntington Beach, CA.
