X Games 17 is happening from July 28th to the 31st and they have released an initial confirmed riders list. They make a point of saying the list is likely to change over the next few weeks – you can see some names are missing. But right now it includes Australians Jake Brown, Shane O’Neill and Renton MIllar alongside the usual crew like Sheckler, P-Rod, Cole, Burnquest, Lasek, PLG and more. Check the full list below.

Last Saturday was the national finals for the Red Bull Manny Mania comp that has been going on around the country. The finals took place at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne where there was a pretty amazing setup with a huge crowd gathered around for it. The win was taken out for the second year running by Dean Palmer who is off to New York to compete in the international finals. Last year he came second – here’s hoping for the win this year! The national finals for Red Bull’s Manny Mania is happening this coming Saturday (May 21st) in Melbourne. The day kicks off at 12pm for the Victorian qualifier and the finals roll at 5pm – it’s happening at Southern Cross Station and it should be a rad day. The winner of the finals gets a spot in the NYC competition! Details on Saturday are below.

Last weekend was the rescheduled Viva Prahran festival. Converse played a huge part in this years one putting on music, a three-on-three basketball tournament as well as the skate comp. Melbourne weather was at its best – by which I mean the rain held off for a bit and it was only cold enough to cause minor frost bite on the spectators. Last weekend saw the first two frames of the new round at the Battle of the Berrics kick off. This time it is Davis Torgerson versus Shane O’Neill and Morgan Smith versus Alex Mizurov. The O’Neill/Torgerson battle is incredible. Check them out over here.

2010 series winner Nyjah Huston had quite a pay day on the weekend taking both the win at the Street League Seattle event as well as the best trick award netting a total of US$165 thousand for the days work.
