According to the ESPN article, “Upon arrival in Vancouver, Kokubo had loosened his tie, untucked his shirt and sagged his pants, sparking complaints. Two coaches and the snowboard team manager for Japan were also barred from attending the ceremony.” Yup, that’s all it took. However Kokubo hit back at a press conference saying, “For me, the Olympics is just another snowboarding event. It’s nothing special“. I like this guys attitude! More on it all here.
