I know, I know… the headline right? Amazing. It really is the hilarious headlines that make this site what it is – and with this gem, I didn’t disappoint! Oh, wait… I need to explain huh? Well, Shortstraw have been shooting their new catalog over the last few days and have had a few guys trying out some unusual, coffin shaped boards. Our friend Brock dropped me these details “Matt Cuddihy, Sage Joske, Carl Gonsalves, photographer Ryan Heywood and a grom named Sean all gathered boards; including shaper Sean Wildes latest creation; the coffin board – and headed up to Tea Tree to see what was on offer for some trimtastic delights. We spent the afternoon getting fun lil peeling rights without too much of a crowd to bother us (considering we are here during the Longboard Festival).”
The photos were taken by Ryan Haywood and have a bit of a sneak peek for the awesome new Shortstraw gear – peep below the cut for what went on and some party shots from that night.
The locals scope out some of Shortstraw designer; Jim Mitchell’s art. Five pieces were created and painted on custom-made coffins (which Jim also built) for the night.
Carl Gonsalves and Matt Cuddihy are happy.
The crew of Christian Wach, Josh Constable and Harry Roach traded stories and laughs with each other all night.
