If you’ve ever wondered how a little Australian boardshort company turns into a global giant, it all starts with Jeff Hackman eating a paper napkin. Or at least that’s what I heard anyway. Also, if you’d read the news page in the 4th issue you would have heard that Quiksilver has a book coming called ‘The Mountain & The Wave’. The 320 page book written by Phil Jarratt charts the 35 year history of Quiksliver. Quik had a launch down at their Torquay compound which was a really eye opening experince. We got to talk Bob McKnight and Phil Jarratt and learnt that although Quiksilver is a huge company, those guys still surf all the time. JK and some of the team kids were skating a wallride in the loading dock with the beers flowing. Stay tuned for our interview with Phil (Bob’s will be in the next issue). Until then, read more for the video and pictures of the launch.
