Japan Update

POP’s far east reporter Chunk sent through an update and some photos from Japan. This is what he said: Japan is rad, about a meter less than last year though. Had a bluebird powder day today, radnessness. So if you’re heading out to Japan soon it sounds like you’re in for some good times. Chunk has assured me that he’s send some video footage through soon but until then have a look at the following photos.

That’s an intricate sticker job you’ve got there Chunk.

Thanks to Chunk and Totoro of the SF forums we now have a translation of the text in the above article of Josh Roberts:

What are the popular items for this season in the country on the other side of the ocean, America? If you don’t want to look like many snowboarders around you, why not take a look at the trends overseas. So we have got assistance from Milo Sports, which has 4 different stores America wide with main store located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We spoke with Josh Roberts who is the Store Manager of the shop.

“The hot item for this season is undoubtedly items utilising special materials. For example herringbone, hemp, denim are the ones I’m talking about. The items are not conventionally known to be used in snowboard wear. As for the silhoutte, seems like slimmer ones will become popular. Especially with jackets, the slimmer and longer cut is gonna be hot. If you don’t have enough money to buy new gear then just wear some jeans. It is still cool to wear them, but make sure they are super tight fit.”

Also Josh, who is in the picture, is a former pro snowboarder and he got the skills to land a frontside 900 which was filmed on video about 10 years ago.
