If you read issue 4 of POP you might be aware that the Victorian snow/skate/surf shop Trigger Brothers snow team is making a movie. The team is off in the far reaches of the globe; some in Russia, some in Germany; most in America. Rumor is that a teaser is expected next week and we thought we’d check in with Trigger teamsters Mikey Williams, Tom Pelley, Jackson Allen and POP’s very own Rick Baker and Jan Snarski on how filming in Salt Lake City, Utah is progressing. Read more for all the photos.
From Rick Baker:
So the last few days have been exhausting… Up at 7am, eat some fruit, pick up Tom, pick up Mikey, get coffee, arrive at resort, head into the backcountry, wonder if the snow is safe, hike for 45 minutes in waist deep snow, shovel and build jump until 3pm, drive down into the city, call local friends, hit hand rails until light is gone, eat as much mexican food as can handle, sleep…
It’s been taxing but the guys have been getting shots. Mikey got a large indy off this cliff transfer/gap thing. Tom got a rad noseslide 270 out on a 25 stair as well as a backlip pretzel out on the 18 at the Rail Gardens. I managed a fun method off of a cliff and a lot of bomb holes. Jan got some nice 50/50 180 outs. Jackson had a bad couple of days but I’m confident he’ll find his luck.
We’ve all been enjoying watching the ‘daily’s’ after each day and I have a few ideas for some kind of teaser or trailer (yes, there’s a difference I believe). So hopefully I’ll put something good together next week so you can all see some footage and get a feel for how the video will look. I hope the photos are okay. Later.
Tom Pelley waist deep in some Utah backcountry goodness.
Jan Snarski… Efficient, Polish.
Day 1 of building. That’s Mikey with his shirt off in case you wanted to know.
Jackson Allen son… Unnhh!

Yep landed it.
Tom packed up and ready to hike home after a long day shoveling.
The guy in the car parked next to us. Yes it was a Kombi.
Hey ladies! You mind if I park here? I’ll only be a few minutes. Yeah it’s the kind of moustache that says “Yeah I’ve been nude on camera, what of it?’

Half way Myspace shot.
Finished.
The knuckle. Well kind of.
Tom had already climbed this tree to prove to Jan that the angle was worth it. That’s great except Jan weighs twice as much as Tom. He never got higher than this.
The run in.
Utah backcountry. These are all jumps which could be seen from the run in to our jump. It’s meant to snow this weekend. Where to go..?
