You might have seen the article we put up a few weeks back on Eric Koston’s signature Oakley Frogskins (If you missed it, you can peep it here). Well, as soon as I saw them I started hassling our friend Em at Oakley to try and get some for on the site. They arrived late last week and the first thing that struck me was how light they are; combined with the matte feel and the wood grain pattern, it actually gives these a natural wood feel. The ones I got sent have a dark grey lens – nothing reflective. I’m not one for anything too crazy when it comes to sunnies (although I’ll admit I’ve had my moments in the past) so the low-key look of these is really my kind of style. The package comes with an EK logo pouch and a EK pencil. I’m not sure if there’s a reason for the pencil, but I like it. Australia has only received 150 pairs of these so they’re super limited. They’re retailing at around $159.95 – head over here to find your nearest retailer and check below for the official Oakley release.

OAKLEY RELEASE:
“During his amazing career, skateboarder Eric Koston has captured titles and awards at almost every major competition. A fearless skater with a style all his own, Koston is arguably the most influential action sports athlete of his time.
Now, Oakley and Eric Koston have come together to create a unique line of signature backpacks, travel bags, accessories and eyewear. This November, Oakley released the first products: two backpacks and a pair of limited edition Frogskins bearing the EK brand. The remaining EK products will debut in 2010.
Limited Edition Frogskins:
The same striking wood grain pattern used in both bags is continued on these Limited edition Frogskins. These unique frames feel as if someone whittled a piece of wood into them. They are outfitted with dark grey lenses. A matching EK logo pouch rounds out what promises to be the most sought after Frogskins of the year.”
