So I made this mini site for the Trigger Brothers snow team movie. I think it’s nice. So check back here for all the little team updates, teasers, trailers, photos and such. Anyway, on with the update. A few days ago we were struggling to get speed on this fun 24 stair rail out the back of some school. There was another crew of kids sliding another rail at the same school. They had a sweet drop-in ramp and didn’t have any trouble with speed. We knew what had to be done… Read more for the rest of the story and all the photos.
We got our grey lead pencil’s out and put together a plan. Well actually I took at look at this photo of Mikey Williams on Chris Coulter’s drop-in ramp that Dan Himbrechts took and copied that. Even better, once the guy at Home Depot found out what we were building, he didn’t charge us for all the cutting we had him do. He said he’ll do it “for the cause.” Thanks guy.
So once Jackson, Rory, Jan and I had done all the nailing and guess-ter-mation we were good to go. Now all we needed were some snowboarders with some real skill. In walked Mikey Williams. I can’t say this enough, Mikey took it to another level. He 50-50’ed this 11 flat 11 kink first try. It was out of hand! Then the next night he did the same down a 15 flat 15 with a fence covering the non-stair side. I was sure I was going to see what Mikey looked like pressed through a chicken wire fence like Playdough.
Jan got a nice 50-50 180 out down a 24 stair. Tom Pelley and I tried back-lips for a good 3 hours to no avail. Jackson went for the backside 50-50 first try and promptly ate concrete. Poor kid. He’s got a big heart though and got straight back up.
Today we’re teaming up with some local friends to jib some jibs. Tomorrow we’re heading into the ‘woods’ at Brighton and then maybe another shot at some jumps. Jan and I are leaving here next week so it’s time to get after it. Until then, enjoy the photos.

The wood for our drop in ramp. Now what…?
Rory and Rick.
Yeah Jan, stick to holding the tools mate.

The unfinished structure part of it. Jackson is there for scale.
The ramp part of it.
Freezing cold but finished.
The lock together system. Make sure you use a spirit level. We didn’t and it’s wonky.
A little steep but it had to fit on the roof or our car.

To this bad boy!
Jan making sure he gets the shot.
