Tall tees and tamedogs were the flavor of the day for the first event of the Burton Amateur Series at Falls Creek over the weekend. Seems like the snow has finally come to the party this year, and things are looking good. Check out Burtons’ coverage of the event after the jump, there have a been a few minor changes to read about below. Now all you have to do is be ready for the event at Mt Buller this coming weekend, It’s game time.
Saturday 5th held the Burton AM series at Falls Creek, Victoria, and with the help of the recent snowfalls, also marked the opening day of Falls Creek Park. The setup consisted of 3 medium sized rail /box features that gave riders plenty of opportunity to throw down for the judges over the hour jam session. The rider friendly setup meant nobody held back and riders went trick for trick with all the usual suspects being thrown down in succession. In the end, was Victorian rider Iver Lynne who took out the fiercely contested under 15’s division and local rider Livio Tobler who walkd away with the under 20’s glory, both with new Burton snowbaords for their troubles.
This weekend, Sat 12th, the AM series moves to Mt Buller where AM’s will not only get the chance to win plenty of gear but also fight for 2 wildcard entries into the Annual Cattleman’s Rail Jam on Saturday night. Registration for the AM series is free and between 9-10am at the Burton tent, contest from 11am. The format is changing for Mt Buller which will see juniors and open run together in one super jam. Age categories will also be changing with competitors dived into under 15 and open.
