In The News feat. Alessandra Ambrosio (Again!)

Everyone caught the video of the banker looking at the Miranda Kerr pics on Seven’s finance report this week, right? That story was funny on it’s own but it was made funnier by the fact that apparently it was a hoax by one of his office buddies – he emailed the pics to him as the live cross started, then emailed him to look behind him (hence the peek back at the camera towards the end of the cross). To the prankster, I salute you! In other news; an amazing book called ‘Game Change’, film industry pwnage, Demonoid, a Middlesex uni project worthy of a Nobel and Alessandra Ambrosia…

Film Industry Pwned by iiNet – Village Roadshow, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Disney and the Seven Network lost its Federal Court case against ISP iiNet. It was pursuing iiNet for the actions of it users… Which to me, seems like going after Ford because someone in a Falcon was speeding. Anyway, the lost. And I laughed. Time for them to think of a new business model maybe? They’re only a decade too late.

Game Change is one to read – This one is a little tough to get in Australia at the moment but it’s definitely worth trying. Game Change is the story behind the 2008 presidential election in the U.S. It follows the progression of each of the nominees to voting day and the story is told in a really readable and enjoyable way. The book was compiled through interviews done on ‘deep background’ so there is no sources credited for the information but the editors all claim that everything was checked and double checked. The book has also featured on the Colbert Report – head here to check it out.

Demonoid Open – The Pirate Bay is gone and a few others are getting a little sketchy or useless however, all reports are that Demonoid, the semi private torrent network, is doing just fine. This morning, for whatever reason, they have opened their registration up (normally it’s invite only) – hit the link and sign up while you can!

Middlesex University Needs More Funding, Like Now – Prepare yourselves to see 2010’s Nobel prize winners! Some good guys at Middlesex University have created the ‘Heineken Bot’. A small robot that fits a mini-keg and prowls the room and offers up a drink to anyone that wants it. It’s pure genius…

And Finally – Alessandra Ambrosio… Again. But really, do you mind? This is from shooting the latest Victoria’s Secret swimwear I believe. Anyway, have a great week!
