Mavericks was held last weekend in record swells with waves up to 50 feet high. The event was won by South African, Chris Bertish but the action on the beach was just as good. Two massive waves swept up into the spectators area causing injury and damage to tonnes of equipment. Filming scaffolding was brought down, legs were broken, knees were grazed.
