DC’s ‘True S’ Review

(Photo by Julius Kellar) I caught site of these the other day and wanted to get them on the site ASAP. I know a lot people are all about the super slim silhouette’s and shades of black right now but these took me back to my early days in PSC where I first laid eyes on a rad looking pair of royal blue suede kicks from DC. This is a new model from DC called the True S. They have a lot of the features you’d expect in a skate shoe like the rubber toe wrap and abrasion-resistant sticky rubber outsole, as well as something called Super Suede which is apparently 50% more durable than standard suede. But the thing that I like about these is the fact that they are a functional skate shoe… they’re not over the top – they look like they were made to skate in. In addition, this particular version of the ‘True S’ is for Kieran Rielly and Bjorn Johnson. Kierans are snorkel blue/white and feature the Eureka Flag on the tongue (as seen above) while Bjorn’s are black/armor and feature a New Zealand silver fern on the tongue… A nice patriotic touch from the guys. They’re available instores now and retail for around $119.95.
