(Photos by Julius Kellar) I finally got my hands on a pair of the new Sabre ‘Easy Rider’ goggles we mentioned a while back. First, these things have an un-boxing that is pretty exciting. The coffin shaped box is wood textured and when opened reveals the goggles along with a Sabre stamped ring and several spare studs that match the ones running across the top of the goggle. The box has a velvet inner and is really well presented.
The goggle itself feels great – soft felt inner around the frame, plain matte black flexible outer frame which is made from a material they’re calling ‘Shred Light’ and metal logo detail on the strap. All the metal adds a little weight to them but they feel good. The lens is a dark reflective polarized meaning that it’s not going to be ideal in low light conditions but on your average day in the Australian mountains, it’ll be perfect.
Price-wise, the Easy Rider is mid-range coming in at $139.95. They have a slightly lower priced goggle on the market as well, called the Acid Rider which comes in at $119.95. These are not ‘disposable’ prices but aren’t bank breaking either.
The only hitch with these is that they are limited… I’m not sure how many stockists will be lucky enough to get them but they’re definitely worth grabbing if you see em.
