As I missed the Art On Foam show that Quiksilver held over the weekend (if you went send me photos!), I made POP’s resident New York City reporter go to The Happening, an art/music show that Quiksilver helped put on in downtown Manhattan featuring, among others, Mason Jennings and Thomas Campbell! The Art show was held at the famous Milk Gallery (although I was stitched and told the wrong time by a friend!) the opening night party at Hiro was a blast.

Some New York Hipsters.
They didn’t take credit card, otherwise I would have charged it to the company card. It was probably for the best though, because the boss takes those kinds of things pretty serious.
Everything else was good, I wonder what was wrong with the green shirts?
One Man with his Axe…
…and a Crowd to Rock!
I’m not certain who this guy was, but he sounded a lot like Mason Jennings. After Emily Haines rocked the house, all the musicians were mellow guitar players.. I left before Mason came on stage because I was kinder sleepy. I was later told that a lot of people felt the same way and by the time Mason came on there was barely 20 people left.. My advice, next time start mellow and end with rock.
Despite this bartender looking like one of these dudes he was a really cool dude and the best bartender I’ve ever seen! I guess you can’t judge a book by thier biceps…argh, you know what I mean.
Random Crowd Shot #39..This place was huge!
Do you recognize any of these people? It was the VIP table I was told.
These guys were actually surfers! Isn’t it obvious?! So if your looking for waves in NYC, Hiro coat check is the place for the hot tips.
My girlfriend took this photo …bitch.
Keeping it real…get your shred on!
