So it was a lay day today with a tiny swell and unfavorable winds, allowing everyone to take a rest from the Easter weekend’s parties and enjoy a sleep in.

I headed down to Thirteenth Beach this morning to chase a quick surf and found the Rip Curl event team pacing out site in case they need to run the event there as the search to find waves for the world’s top surfers continues.

With a crowded line up (final day-off for the weekend) the clean three-foot peaks looked very inviting as Dane Reynolds and Dusty Payne ran past and down the stairs, I decided to flag the surf and take some shots for the Pop readers.

Dane and Dusty’s hype is well deserving they can surf… Very well. I’m looking forward to checking out the second round of the Rip Curl Pro, which will hopefully kick off again tomorrow.
