Spooky overcast weather and consistent surf on a classic break allowed for an epic day of competition as Round 3 was completed at Winki Pop at the Rip Curl Pro 2010.
Current world number one Taj Burrow dominated the day beating Matt Wilkinson in round 3 and then Andy Irons in round 4, posting the highest heat score of the day a 17.77 out of a possible 20.
Key knock-outs included Dane Reynolds, Chris Davidson and Dusty Payne. WCT rookie, Dusty who was up against Kelly Slater, scored a 9.17 out of 10 on his first wave was unable to find a back up wave to knock out an injured Kelly.
Four heats of round 4 were ran with super shredders Adriano, Taj, Jordy and Fanning progressing through to the quarter finals.
