This week we have the hacker who released the video of US soldiers firing on civilians turning in his source, satellite photos of the Gulf of Mexico, a collection of Greg Williams work, Chrome vs. Firefox on Mac, one man with his Gallardo and Zoe Saldana. Enjoy!
Hacker Turns In Army Leak – The guy who received (then forwarded to Wikileaks) the video from the helicopter in Iraq when the group of civilians and journalists were shot has outed his source saying that he had become a danger to national security. It’s an interesting read.
Satellite Photo of Gulf Oil Spill – NASA’s Terra satellite caught a pretty amazing photo of the oil stretching across the Gulf Coast in the US after the collapse of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform. It is pretty fucked up they haven’t got something worked out on this yet – I have no doubt it’s tough but they have got to be able to do something.
Greg Williams Should Release More Work – Greg Williams, the man responsible for a few of Esquire’s hottest shoots, has got a few videos out from those shoots. Lifelounge have put together a bit of a collection. Oh, and if you haven’t seen it, here’s a promo for the April issue of Esquire… I need to buy this issue.
Chrome For Mac Has Faults – This is just a quick personal review. I switched my primary browser from Firefox to Chrome when the stable version for Mac was released the other week. I just wanted to give it a couple of weeks as a trial to see if it could replace good ‘ol FF. While Chrome is considerably faster and crashed a whole lot less, unfortunately it feels clunky to use. The extensions were all poorly designed in comparison with their Mozilla counterparts, you cant get rid of the favicons for your favorites bar which adds clutter to the frame and with no bottom bar, I was restricted in the amount of information I could clearly organize around the screen. This week, Safari 5 was released, I’d say next week I’ll run it and see how it goes. Which browsers are you guys using?
One Man, One Gallardo – This is a rad story I came across about a guy in the U.S. who, after having his heart broken, sold everything to buy a Lamborghini Gallardo and took off across the country. He put over 90,000 miles on the clock, racked up over 50 speeding fines and it all ended when the cars timing chain stretched and crunched the valves. Right now he can’t afford to repair it and it’s worth less than what he owes on it but he has one hell of a story.
And finally – This is a special request… from Avatar and starring alongside Danny Glover, Tracy Morgan and Chris Rock in the American remake of the UK comedy, Death at a Funeral, I give you Zoe Saldana. Have a great week!
