Dr Denim Sydney Lawn Bowls Tournament

On Sunday Dr Denim Jeansmakers ran a lawn bowls tournament for friends of the brand. Teams included people from Monster Children, Oyster, TwoThousand, General Pants head office, Somedays, the Swedish Embassy and even the founders of the brand who flew over from Sweden just for the tournament. There’s a Melbourne day planned, albeit without the lawn bowls, on Sunday June 20 at Collingwood World on Smith St from 5pm. They’re screening the Dr Denim short film/look book ‘Salad Days’ too. Below is the official press release and above a bunch of party photos thinks to Caroline McCredie.

PRESS RELEASE:

The first ever Dr Denim lawn bowls tournament went down a treat on Sunday with the guys and girls from Oyster Magazine taking out the championship by defeating The Swedish Embassy and Trade Council in the final. Fierce competition in the bowling and even stiffer competition at the bar saw the boys from Monster Children take third place and Some Agency round out the minors.

The day started well with a colour in the sky that hasn’t been seen in Sydney for a few weeks but it wasn’t long before the clouds poured down on the bowlers and pushed them inside to continue the tournament using Wii bowling.

Founders of Dr Denim Jeansmakers – Morten Graah and son Alex Graah flew in from Sweden just for the tournament but jetlag took its toll on their performance and the Swedes bowed out early in group stage.

Struggling in the bowling tournament the crew from General Pants Co head office set off to conquer the ‘Famous Doctor Challenge’ and picked up the ultimate music machine for their office, a Pacemaker.

As things wrapped up and the prizes were handled out courtesy of Sony, Muse Headphones, Pacemaker, Pop Frenzy, Modular, Imax and The Sydney Swans plans unfolded to hit the kick-on at Sydneys newest small bar The Passage.

The party swelled in size at The Passage thanks to the free 42 Below Vodka and Mountain Goat Beers. Then in the wee hours of Monday morning after sets from Purple Sneakers DJ M.I.T, Big in Japan and Lloyd Healy everyone was left to deal with a sore head for the first workday of the week.
