Last week I got to talk to Entourage’s Adrian Grenier (who plays Vincent Chase in the show) about his new film, Teenage Paparazzo. Grenier directed and starred in the film about 13 year old Austin Visschedyk who roams the streets of L.A. late into the night taking photos of celebrities. The film looks at the media’s drive for gossip, the paparazzo’s ‘do anything at any cost’ culture, celebrities relationship with the photographers and society’s addiction to the meaningless captured in the shots. It’s an interesting film to watch and Grenier’s approach makes the film – he doesn’t present answers or begin with preconceived ideas, he learns about the paparazzo’s day to day job and tried to understand the situation from their end. The film is worth watching for one scene where two young paparazzo are working, being filmed by two documentary/reality-TV shows, and being photographed by a magazine. As Grenier says, “Everyone’s shooting everyone, but nothing is actually happening.” Check out the interview below!
