Store Wars 2008

Last week I got a call from Helen at Mt Buller asking me if Trigger Brothers would be fielding a team in the 3rd annual store wars contest. It was the first I had heard, and had less than an hour to assemble a team of staffers that could travel to Buller the next day. Long story short, it was one of the best days ever. Soooo.

After I got off the phone to Helen, I had to get organised fast. I called J-Lo (Jarred Osborn) to see if he could cover me, he was already up there, even better. Alex Scott is always down, always. Tom Pelley was there. I was driving. That’s a team.

5 am starts suck balls, but little did we know the gems that awaited us that day. It has bucketed snow and even though it was windy as hell, it was amazing. The snow was down to the gate, no one was around.

The contest consisted of a slalom and a slopestyle. It didn’t even really matter, the best runs were through to the chair for our way back to the top. We had found some of the best pow and jib lines I have had in my Buller lifetime and totally forgot about the contest. That was until lunchtime when we went to the awards ceremony with free BBQ and beers. Alex Scott ended up talking out the overall title and Trigger Brothers took home the gong. One of the best days I’ve ever had at Buller, big thanks to Helen and the team for inviting us. Check out some of the photos.
