Got a last minute report from the Dew Hut Jam crew that are setting up for tomorrow. Transfer editor Russ Holt is down there looking over the course and he said, “The set-up is a little different than last year. The two lines of features before the hut have been pulled out so there is more of a focus on the hut itself, but we have added a big feature next to the hut which is a little surprise for the riders.” It’s all looking good for the comp – here’s hoping the weather is a little kinder than it was last year! Pop will be along and is hoping to bring you live reports from the comp – check back tomorrow for details! Full press release below.

PRESS RELEASE:
Report from Russ Holt, Dew Hut Jam event curator and rider representative
We arrived at Mt Buller, the venue for the 2010 Dew Hut Jam and were all presently surprised to see the set-up for the event on Saturday is starting to look super tight.
I drove over from Mt Hotham with Jye Kearney who’s part of the Burton team and after checking in to our accom we walked straight over to the event site where the whole Mt Buller Park crew where hard at it. Jye and I were joined by a member from last years winning team, Nate Perry who also arrived today.
We were all pretty impressed with the set-up, the jumps and landing has been built up over the last few days and is really nice and wide with a really big long landing. The cat drivers and park crew have done a sweet job to get this huge mound of snow ready for the comp. The actual hut was put up this morning in only 4 hours by the Dew Hut builders and they were off for the arvo getting some shredding in on the slushy spring-like snow up here.
The set-up is a little different than last year. The two lines of features before the hut have been pulled out so there is more of a focus on the hut itself, but we have added a big feature next to the hut which is a little surprise for the riders. The surprise comes in the form of Mt Buller’s new park feature – a huge round tank called “Frank”. Frank will be set-up next to the hut for gap-to’s and variable slides and jibs. It gives the teams another option and looks super fun as well as safe and easy to do lots of different styles of tricks – I think the teams will tear it apart.
So for now as the park crew keep working on the set-up and perfecting the jumps and lines before official course inspection this afternoon, we are getting ready for a big couple of days of fun snowboarding ahead. Nearly $20k is going to be won by the end of the weekend!! Crazy.
Russ Holt.
