The Rob Blog: 2010 Equipment Check

I got asked up at Buller at the Hut Jam what setup Robbie was riding at the moment, so I thought I would get in touch with his K2 Australian team manager, Linc Jago, to find out. Linc tells me Robbie has got three boards this year. He is on the WWW Rocker 152. which according to the spiel “is K2’s jibbing machine, it has our Jib Rocker baseline so it is super playful and easy to press, butter and spin onto rails, Robbie rides the LTD colourway.”

He’s also got the Believer 157. Again, the site tells me it’s “K2’s park killer, and the board our team has the most input on. It has our all new Flatline baseline (so the board is 100% flat contact point, to contact point) Flatline is demanded by all our pros as the most stable, balanced and smoothest ride in all conditions.  The graphic this season is a co-lab with NYC fashion house Serum Vs Venom (www.svsv.net), very stealth.” This was the one from the ad in the last issue of Pop (check it here).

And last up, the Turbo Dream 161. Robbie rides this predominantly in the backcountry for its float in powder. It has K2’s All-Terrain Rocker baseline profile. Robbie made the K2 catalog shredding this badboy!

For bindings Robbie has been riding the Formula’s. Linc says the Formula is their top end freestyle binding which he describes as “responsive, lightweight, with great straps and an all new canted footbeds.

Robbie also rides for K2 boots now – he is riding the Darko Conda model in black at the moment. Darko Conda is a favourite of the K2 team and features boa laces for better heel hold, heat moldable (what they call ‘intuition’) liners for the best fit and their own dampening system known as ‘Harshmellow’.

You can see all of the gear through the links above or check the full line here. Thanks for your time and help on this Linc!
