In Bali surfing and motorbikes have always been fused together. In the early days surfers only access to remote breaks, other than on foot, was on 2 stroke trail bike. Today most surfers still get to the same breaks on two wheels. Trouble is, those two wheels are usually on relatively tame scooters. Not anymore. Deus (pronounced day-us), the Sydney based motorcycle custom shop, have open a ‘Temple of Enthusiasm’ in Canggu, Bali. The collection of buildings house a motorcycle showroom, art gallery, workshop facilities, photographic studio, artists studio, and even a surfboard shaping bay.
As the guys at BikeEXIF so eloquently put, “if I were looking for a lifestyle change, hanging out in Bali building custom bikes and surfboards would be near the top of my list”. The above bike is the first Deus bike tailored for Bali, dubbed the ‘Inari’ and based on a 1976 Honda CB100 – one of the most popular bikes in Indonesia. Head here for more info on the bike and here for Deus Canggu.
