Event two of the inaugural Street League series is happening this weekend and the hype is definitely building and not just around the event. There is continuing escalation between Street League and the Maloof Money Cup with next years Maloof series becoming a five stop series including one international destination called the Platinum Money Cup. We’re all still waiting for news on Chris Cole’s situation with the $1 million still on the table from the Maloof’s if he can win the next MMC event. Nyah Huston’s win and statistics in event one has set the benchmark for the So.Cal event this weekend and riders now know that they have to do to win. He finished with 5.0 average tricks landed and an 82% consistency score. Shane O’Neill finished on a higher average trick score (5.2) but lower consistency cause he has more runs in each section. The guys will be looking to these numbers as the target this weekend.
Finally, the Championship Points table has been released. These points will accrue over the season to crown the Street League Champion who be awarded the $100,000 championship Nixon watch and ring. I’m not totally sure how they calculate these scores as yet – you can see that they’re not solely related to the event points so they must be a combination of those plus the consistency/average tricks landed scores. I’ll update when I work it out. The current championship table is below. Check it out.
