I just got a note to say that the owners of Armourdillo and Theeve Trucks, Antics Intl. have taken agreed a longterm global licensing agreement for Stereo Skateboards and Hi-Fi Wheels. The deal sees Antics handling sales, marketing and distribution worldwide for the iconic brands leaving the crew there to focus on the creative side of the business. 13 Sept 2010 Antics International announced today, that it has secured a long term global licensing agreement for iconic skateboarding brands, Stereo Skateboards & Hi-Fi Wheels.

Founded in ’92 by professional skateboarders and longtime friends Jason Lee and Chris Pastras, Stereo was a breath of fresh air, when many skaters felt skateboarding had creatively hit rock bottom. Together, Jason and Chris released two skateboard films: A Visual Sound (’94) and Tincan Folklore (’96). Going against the grain with the use of 8mm film, black and white still photography and avantgarde music, the two films are now revered as classics within the skateboard community. In ’96, Jason set skateboarding aside to pursue an acting career, while Chris headed Stereo on his own. Stereo had a hiatus between 2000 and 2003, but Chris and Jason joined forces again to re-launch Stereo. In 2010, with 18 years of heritage, Stereo continues to be an influential skateboard brand.

The agreement with Antics, will allow Jason & Chris, to concentrate on the creative and marketing side of both brands. Antics will collaborate on the design and product/technical development, while taking over the day to day sales, distribution, production and international operations. Stereo & Hi-Fi join Theeve Truck Co and Armourdillo in the Antics distribution stable.
