(Photos by Julius Kellar) We have mentioned these on the site before but a few weeks ago the good guys at Skullcandy let me get my hands on what was, at the time, one of only two pairs in the country to give them a test drive. Before I get to the review, the ROC Nation Aviator’s were developed with Jay Z and look amazing – in addition to the brown, they also come in an all black and white with polished silver highlight.

They are, as the name suggests, inspired by the iconic Ray Ban’s and they have created a style, shape and set of materials with clear throw backs to their inspiration. The ear pieces are extremely comfortable with plenty of foam surrounded by soft leather. I sit at my desk with headphones on for over 5 hours every day and usually even the most comfortable begin to hurt, not with these – I used them for three long days in the office with no effects at all.

Sound wise they do a great job at blocking outside noise and provide rich, deep tones. From a tech point of view, inside the beautiful casing you have 40 millimetre full range enhanced audio drivers, and tangle free nylon cable with in line music and mic control – they are completely compatible with iPhones too.
