Former Billabong CEO Derek O’Neill is teaming up with Paul Naude to create a new, rival brand to Billabong. O’Neill was a long, long time employee for Billabong establishing the brand in Europe amongst other duties, and Naude was president for the Americas and led a rival bid to takeover the brand. So they’re not without a bit of knowledge on their competitor. Still, here’s hoping they’ve learnt a few lessons over the last couple of years – the business model needs to be a little more than “add logo, make money”. More on this over at Business Spectator.
