The St. Kilda Skate Park is still not a sure thing. The well organized, well financed opposition to the skate park have taken their objections to just about every court they can find and even got themselves a Queens Council working for them. Their objections are varied but center around the park bringing objectionable people into their area – I’m not sure if they’ve wandered around their streets recently but skaters are the least of their worries. Anyway, I’ve got a list of people who need to hear from you by November 10th (the date of the next VCAT hearing) – these are potential councilors in the area and as Michael Mulcahy said to me, “the more people we can get making their voice heard, the less easily the skate park can be dismissed.” So click here and send the email – it’s all written for you, you just need to click and send (but you can add more detail if you want to).
Please do this – it’s not just for people in St. Kilda or for people in Victoria, getting this park built helps skaters everywhere, so click, click.
