This has nothing to do with surf/skate/snow but for anyone interested in the future of Australia, this is a really interesting thing to listen to. Each year the ABC gets a prominent Australian to give a series of lectures on a subject totally of their chosing. These lectures have happened each year for nearly 50 years now. This year, they have Rupert Murdoch, owner of News Corp. (who owns film studios, newspapers, TV, websites, pay-TV and a whole lot more) to give the lectures and he talks about Australia’s future and place in the world. Although not technically an Australian anymore (he took US citizenship about two decades ago so he could own media properties in the States) he grew up south of Melbourne and still feels that Australia is his home. The first two lectures in a series of six are available for download here. They only run for a little over 30 mins and he raises some controversial ideas and opinions. If anyone is interested, it’d be great to get a forum thread going on his suggestions for the future of Australia. Enjoy!
