Victorian Premiere, John Brumby, met with former World Champion and Rip Curl Pro Contest Director, Damien Hardman, at Bells Beach today to announce that the Victorian government would continue to support the Rip Curl Pro for the next three years. “The Rip Curl Pro is a major draw card on a dynamic calendar of major events including the Melbourne Grand Prix, Australian Open and the AFL Grand Final,” Mr Brumby said. I had no idea that the contest got state government help but now that I do, I feel all patriotic to my home state – go Vic Government! Take that, other states and territories! Vic, Vic, Vic, Oi, Oi Oi… doesn’t really work, does it? I’ll work on that one.
