I have to share this story with you guys, because POP has a new friend in Western Australia and I think the story is pretty cool.

About a week ago we got an email from Ben Dwyer in Western Australia asking where he could get an issue of the magazine after he’d seen it in Sydney. We replied saying that he could get it at one of the few stores listed on the circulation map. A couple of hours later he replied saying that he went down to the Quiksilver store in Perth but that they had “never heard of the mag”. We wrote back with the TNT tracking number of the box that went to the store (TNF001000100 by the way) and told him that they must have it and sorry about the drive.

Now, this is where Ben elevated himself from normal surf dude to awesome-man! He goes down to the Quicksilver store, makes the staff search around out the back for the box. Of course they find it and he makes sure they put it in the front window for us. What a legend! When we wrote back thanking him for the help, he writes back with a big “No worries mate and by the way, here is a photo of my home break and what’s the surf like in Melbourne?!”

Ben then asked us about subscriptions because “maybe it might be easier”. We agree with you Ben, but we are going to be sending you a bunch of stuff to say thanks for the help and I was kind of hoping that Quiksilver might like to hook you up with something for the trouble? We are working on it for ya’ mate and I’ll keep you all updated with how things go with Ben. More photos under the cut.
