Mark at Nitro shot me through some info on their new reverse camber board, the Sub Pop, that is going to be in stores soon. I’ve got the full info sheet below the cut but the basics of it are that the Sub Pop is going to be a true twin with a wood composite core and negative camber. It’s available in a 148, a 152 or a 155 and will retail at around $699.00.
SUB POP Info Sheet.
The SUB POP is making waves already. TRUE TWIN with a negative camber, shaped like a gull wing.
Our legendary DRIFTER is coming back, bringing the edges up by a couple mm for a catch free rail sensation. The combination of negative camber plus drifter base makes the board turn on a dime. At the same time, once the board is up on edge you get the grip to redirect for the next hit due to the drifter base ending about 100mm short of the contact points.
The gull wing shape in comparison with other negative camber styles gives you way more support when landing off balance without the board shooting out from underneath you. The basic idea of the negative camber remains. Taking pressure of the contact points make these desks ride super loose.
We are introducing our new combat core on the SUBPOP, a wood composite construction which allows us to achieve a smooth and ultra soft flex without sacrificing strength and performance. This is the softest flexing deck in Nitro’s history.
