Torstein Horgmo Wins Big Air Event at X-Trail Jam

DC rider, Torstein Horgmo, has had a win at the X-Trail Jam in Japan. Torstein took out the Big Air event with a switch backside 1080. This, combined with his other wins through the season, have given him enough points to hold third place in the current TTR rankings. Check below the cut for the full press release from DC.

Podium Finish Moves Him to Number Three Position on TTR World Tour

Dec. 16, 2008 – VISTA, CA— DC would like to congratulate am rider Torstein Horgmo on taking first place in the Big Air event Sunday, Dec. 14, at the X-Trail Jam in Tokyo. Torstein secured the win in the finals with his Switch BS 1080. His position on the Big Air podium and consistent riding throughout the tour have earned him third position in the TTR World Tour’s current standings.

It would be an understatement to say it’s been a good season for Torstein, who recently took first place in Slopestyle at the Burton Australian Open this Sept. Beforehand at Oakley Stylewars in August, Torstein won Best Trick with his Switch BS 1260—the same trick that earned him a Gold medal in the Big Air event at Winter X Games 12. Torstein’s recent video parts include his segment in Standard’s’ Aesthetica, and his part in the fabled New Zealand Snow Park session with Ken Block’s Subaru rally car in DC’s MTN.LAB 1.5. Torstein’s frontside 720 tailgrab alongside Ken Block’s rally car aerial attack landed the duo on the cover of “Snowboarder Magazine.”
