There is a fair bit of action happening way down south at the moment. The Japenese whaling whale research vessels have begun their harvest research trip for the season and were recently intercepted by Paul Watson and the rest of the Sea Shephard crew. According to the Sea Shephards, conditions are pretty heavy right now and that doesn’t leave them many options if it all goes bad considering Greenpeace have not sent a monitoring vessel this year. The only life preservers thrown to the Sea Shephards by the Japanese would be long, metal, and approaching rapidly. It’s a messed up situation that is buried in cultural and political debate. Without delving to deep into the issue, make sure you have a good read before you tuck into your next whale sandwich.
