Gatorade has signed on 14-year-old skater Chaz Ortiz and snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth to begin its move into action sports. The release tells me that they will be “…the first isotonic beverage in a sports landscape dominated by energy drinks and soda brands.” I’m stoked that they’re getting into this and I only hope we get to see some rad commercials (like this) based on surf/skate/snow in the future. Apparently Ortiz is in for a six figure sum too, so they’re taking this seriously. Check out more details here.
