According to NYdailynews, Jay Z’s music publishing company, Roc Nation, is being sued by Volcom for trademark infringement. Volcom claims they have spent over US$100,000,000 developing the logo as a clear symbol of the brand and that the Roc Nation diamond is likely to cause confusion between the brands amongst consumers. It’s the second time Jay Z’s use of the precious stone has caused him trouble – previously a wrestler known as Diamond Dallas Page took issue with Jay Z throwing the hand symbol out at concerts.
