The Maloof brothers have upped the ante in the skate competition stakes. After Street League announced that they are raising their comp purse to $1.6 million this season, the Maloofs have announced a Washington contest and raised the prize purse to $2 million. Great to see pro skaters getting paid properly, right? Not according to some who think skateboarding would be better off if everyone worked together under one unified competition… Personally, I don’t think we’d have a total of $3.6 million dollars going out to skaters this year if there weren’t competing tours and I’m down for anything that pays the riders more. What’d you guys think?
