The season points and rankings for Street League were released over the weekend. After two wins Nyjah Huston is on 200 points and is guaranteed a finals place – only the top 10 go to the finals in New Jersey as well as anyone with a win under their belt. Following down the table, it’s highly likely we will see Chris Cole, Chaz Ortiz, Ryan Sheckler and Torey Pudwill there fighting for the US$200K as well. Australian Shane O’Neill is not far off the mark at 152 total overall and based on last years performance, I’d say he’s the one to watch in Arizona on July 16th and 17th.
Looking at the consistency from each rider, in Seatlle, Nyjah dominated with 89%. His nearest rival was O’Neill who managed 68% and P-Rod came in 10th on only 29%. However, come KC that was turned on its head with Rodriguez averaging 7.4 lands as against Huston’s 6.7 … Sure, it didn’t help in his overall finish but if P-Rod can stomp some bigger tricks and get a little more consistent on the tech section, he’s a good chance for the top spot. Sheckler was only 0.4 behind P-Rod’s average in stop two but he scored best trick with a caballerial kickflip in the Big Section which scored him a 9.7 and helped him to come in middle of the field at #5.
There’s some more detailed stats in the gallery above on riders who have made the top ten in either stop of 2011 including more historical data – 2010 winnings, etc. if you’re interested.
