Michelle Hurni has written a hype piece for X Games 17 on ESPN announcing Shaun White will be competing and building the competitive rivalry between him and Pierre-Luc Gagnon (PLG). PLG has a little beef with the attention surrounding White’s return to competitive skating at X Games 16 after winning gold at the Vancouver Olympics. His comments were caught on camera and although he stresses that he and White are friends, he does finish with, “we’re happy to have him, but give me what I worked for and recognize what I’ve done.” If PLG wins, it will be the fourth year in a row – for White, top of the podium for vert at X Games would be the first for him since 2007.
