On August 28th the Street League Championships are going down – will Nyjah Huston manage to take the win and break half a million in comp winnings for the season? He certainly has the form. Photos of the 2011 championship ring and the trophy were released today which will be presented to the winner along with $200,000 after the Newark, NJ finals. The ten riders who made the finals are:

– Nyjah Huston
– Ryan Sheckler
– Chris Cole
– Paul Rodriguez
– Shane O’Neill
– Billy Marks
– Chaz Ortiz
– Mike Mo Capaldi
– Mikey Taylor
– Tommy Sandoval

Right now, it will be tough for Nyjah to lose the Championship prize – if I’m reading this right, he would need to come in position 12 or lower with Chris Cole or maybe Sheckler coming out on top with 100 Championship points to steal it away. To date, Huston has never dropped lower than 3rd in the Street League series, so it’s unlikely. I’ll have more on the series closer to the events – you can see the current championship rankings below.
