2011 Winter Games Halfpipe Results

The 2011 Winter Games have just finished on a high note with the half pipe finals happening in the 22 foot pipe at Cardrona. Current world number one, Australian Nate Johnstone was favorite going in and had two super impressive runs – I’d say he was getting equal or better amplitude than any of the riders out there today and was super smooth. Nate’s second run in the final scored an 87.3 and bumped him briefly into third position but he was knocked out soon after by China’s Yiwei Zhang who scored a 90.8. The day went to Janne Korpi of Finland with a massive run.

In the ladies, Holly Crawford took out second. First went to Xuetong Cai from China and third to Ursina Haller from Switzerland.

Check the gallery above for a few ghetto iPhone shots from where I was sitting and I will have a better gallery up, hopefully later tonight.
