For those who were there, and witnessed the things that happened in Tahiti this last week, there is probably no question. The Billabong Pro was incredible.
Whether it was more or less amazing than the great Pipe Masters battles or the 2006 Rip Curl Search in Mexico or the 2009 Eddie, will be debated over beers for years to come.
One thing’s for certain, this contest had everything. Terrifyingly impossible waves. Incredible displays of heart. Controversy.
