Buller Admits Miskate But Not Defeat

Melbourne’s free newspaper, MX, carried a story yesterday on page 19 titled ‘Lift prices a ski-saster’. The short story mentioned an answer given by Buller Ski Lifts managing director Nick Whitby at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club during a Q&A with the University Ski Club. He said that “maybe it wasn’t the best idea” not to match the Hotham/Falls early bird pass price of $699 and that it had turned into a “social media disaster”. He finished with “watch this space” which was clarified by Buller spokeserson, Rhylla Morgan when she denied that the price structure was being reviewed and said that Whitby was referring to the introduction of RFID tech at the mountains which in the future would allow them to “… move away from static season-long prices into a far more flexible and dynamic system like we currently see in airlines and hotels, where prices vary with capacity and there is wide scope for rolling offers and special online deals.
