Snowboard and skateboard legend Tom Sims passed away on Wednesday night at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He was 63 years old and suffered a cardiac arrest. Sims created his first ‘skiboard’ in 1963 during his 7th grade wood shop class – he is also credits with creating the first board with metal edges and the first board specifically for women.
