Street League stop two for 2013 is happening in Barcelona this weekend. The new course is looking good, designed by Joe Ciaglia and the crew at California Skateparks, they have aimed to disrupt anyone thinking they can repeat what they did at the last stop. Accoring to the run down, the course has been given a local feel with “Antoni Gaudi-styled tile and eggshell mosaics and pillars, Park Güell-ish benches, mock tapas bars and maybe even the signature graffiti-covered corrugated metal shop front shutters one is sure to see late at night, walking up and down the Ramblas with the hordes of tourists, or in the grimier alleys near MACBA.” As always, the Australian ESPN guide is crazy confusing but I think the relevant broadcast times are:
Elimination: Live on ESPN3 – Saturday May 18th, 10.30pm to 1am.
Finals: Live on ESPN2 – Sunday, May 19th, Midnight to 5am.
Will be interesting to see what comes of this weekend. Will Nyjah continue to own this comp? Should everyone save themselves a lot of time and stress by just handing him the watch and the cash and calling it a year? Or will someone take to his knees Nancy Kerrigan style… This seems the only plausible way someone will beat him at the moment.
