Terje Haakonsen’s Arctic Challenge kicks off today and as part of the 2014 event, the pipe setup, comp format and other details are being left with the riders. As Haakonsen explains in the clip above, the riders will have three days to come up with how they want to see the contest go down, and then they will make it happen. This is being done to progress the competition format, which Terje sees as being stale.
This year, Oslo will hopefully witness Iouri Podladtchikov, Markus Keller, Arthur Longo, Danny Davis, Jack Mitrani, Benji Farrow, Scotty Lago, Gabe and Ben Ferguson as well as the founder, Terje Haakonsen, competing in a totally new pipe format. Those riders will have the opportunity to create an exciting comp that suits both the riders and the spectators… It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.
