Yuki Kadono has won the inaugural Air and Style in L.A. This is the first major change to the event since Shaun White took ownership of the company in January 2014. The event included a music festival over multiple stages right next to the 160 foot high jump. His own band, Bad Things, played a set but kudos to him for not taking the headline spot.
Kadono landed the first switch backside triple 16 over the jump and had the rest of the field chasing him from that point. Seb Toots and Ståle Sandbech came in silver and bronze but not by a small margin – Kadono’s trick put him 25 points over Toots.
Sandbech took the overall tour win which netted him US$50,000 and a championship ring.
